Leg Room List #1: Mykonos
Leg Room List (LRL) – a place to add crowd-sourced recommendations from locals and my own personal travels. A living and constantly breathing list that made the big hop from iPhone Notes to this website. PS: your thoughts as locals or adoptive denizens are gold – please share.
Coming back to Mykonos is always a good idea.

Jimmy's Souvlaki – legendary. Best time to go is at the end of the night and get a chicken souvlaki. It's an institution.

Scorpios – post 6pm, for sunset. My favorite music days: Thursday & Friday. Sunday is most popular.

Psarou beach
Many small beautiful beaches, especially in the south and southeast (and pretty much everywhere). Should go and explore.
To buy
Check out the many boutiques in town and by the beach clubs. Open late late.
To go
My favorite time to visit: mid-end July.
Why: most Greeks or regular annual visitors come then. Good crowds, lots of friends, fun atmosphere.
To note
- Rent a car
- Google maps to Scorpios gives you a route through people’s gardens. Better follow signs to Paraga or ask a local
- August sees pretty strong winds from the north (Meltemi)
- Trust the Greek pilots flying propellers, even if they miss the first landing (usually due to strong winds)
- Jimmy (owner of Jimmy’s Souvlaki) is not the most talkative but if you capture his attention, he’s funny
